The 0452008.MRL is a NANO² Slo-Blo surface mount fuse from Littelfuse’s 452/454 Series, rated at 8A with 72VAC/60VDC voltage rating. The time-delay (Slo-Blo) characteristic is specifically designed to withstand inrush currents that occur during power-on sequences, preventing nuisance fuse openings while still providing reliable overcurrent protection for sustained fault conditions. With only 8.8mΩ resistance, it minimizes power dissipation in high-current circuits.

The Slo-Blo fuse element incorporates a thermal mass design that absorbs the energy of short-duration inrush currents (typically 10-100ms) without melting. This allows normal power-on surges to pass through without opening the fuse. However, when a sustained overcurrent condition exceeds the fuse’s time-current curve threshold, the fuse element heats up over time and eventually melts, permanently interrupting the circuit. After opening, the fuse must be replaced.
