The IHLP3232DZER220M1A from Vishay Dale is a 22µH ±20% composite core power inductor in a low-profile 3232 (8.46×8.05×3.0mm) surface-mount package. Using Vishay’s proprietary composite core technology, it achieves approximately 8A saturation current with only 12mΩ typical DCR, enabling high-efficiency operation in demanding power converters. AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive use, the shielded construction minimizes EMI radiation. Operating from -55°C to +125°C for under-hood and industrial deployment.

The IHLP3232 uses Vishay’s composite core technology where powdered iron particles are bonded with a non-magnetic binder and pressed into a monolithic core shape with the coil embedded. This composite structure provides very high saturation flux density (unlike ferrite which saturates sharply), resulting in a soft saturation curve that maintains inductance at high currents. The distributed air gap in the powdered iron core stores more energy than an equivalent ferrite core, enabling higher Isat in the same volume.
