The SN74AVCBH164245GR from Texas Instruments is a 16-bit (dual-octal) noninverting bus transceiver with two separate configurable power-supply rails, designed for universal low-voltage bidirectional voltage translation. VCCA and VCCB each accept 1.4V to 3.6V, enabling translation between any combination of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V domains. The DOC (Dynamic Output Control) circuitry reduces noise without speed degradation. Overvoltage-tolerant I/O and Ioff partial-power-down support enable mixed-voltage system design.

The SN74AVCBH164245 uses dual-rail architecture where the A port tracks VCCA and the B port tracks VCCB. Direction control (DIR) determines whether data flows A-to-B or B-to-A, while output enable (OE) controls tri-state. The H variant (AVCBH) features DOC circuitry that dynamically adjusts output impedance: high impedance during quiet periods reduces ringing, while low impedance during transitions maintains fast edge rates. Overvoltage-tolerant inputs allow connection to voltages higher than the local VCC, enabling true mixed-voltage operation.
