Product Overview
The MAX485ESA is a low-power RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated). Designed for half-duplex communication, this device combines one driver and one receiver in a single SOIC-8 package. The MAX485 features an unrestricted slew rate driver supporting data rates up to 2.5 Mbps, with short-circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown protection. The receiver includes a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output when the input is open-circuited.
