Working Principle

Same AM186ER architecture as the 40MHz variant but qualified for 33MHz operation. The lower clock rate reduces power consumption and eases memory timing requirements. All integrated peripherals (dual UART with baud rate generators, three 16-bit timers, dual DMA controller, programmable I/O, chip-select unit) are identical. The PLCC-68 package is socketable for field replacement in long-lifecycle systems.
