The AP22814A is a Diodes Incorporated single-channel power switch with adjustable current limiting (0.5A-2.5A) and auto-discharge function. Operating from 2.7V to 5.5V, it features 55mΩ RDS(ON), reverse current blocking, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout. The fault flag output provides real-time status indication. Available in MSOP-8 package, it is ideal for USB power switching, hot-swap management, and portable device power path control.

The AP22814A uses an N-channel MOSFET as the main power switch, controlled by the EN pin. When enabled, the MOSFET connects the input to the output with only 55mΩ of resistance. The current limit circuit monitors the load current and limits it to the programmed value set by the ILIM resistor. When the current limit threshold is exceeded, the MOSFET operates in constant-current mode. The reverse current blocking circuit detects when VOUT exceeds VIN and disables the MOSFET to prevent current backflow. When the EN pin is de-asserted, the auto-discharge function rapidly discharges the output capacitance through an internal discharge resistor, ensuring a clean power-down sequence. The FLG pin goes low during fault conditions (overcurrent, thermal shutdown, UVLO).
