Working Principle
The AVR core uses a modified Harvard architecture with 32 8-bit general-purpose registers. Most instructions execute in a single clock cycle, achieving 1 MIPS/MHz throughput. The 3-stage pipeline fetches, decodes, and executes simultaneously. Self-programming flash supports bootloader operation. The 10-bit SAR ADC uses a successive approximation register with sample-and-hold. Power reduction register (PRR) shuts down unused peripherals. Idle, ADC noise reduction, power-down, and standby sleep modes reduce power consumption.
