The DS1822Z+ is a digital temperature sensor from Analog Devices utilizing a 1-Wire communication interface that requires only a single data line (and ground) for communication. It provides +/-2C accuracy over the -10C to +85C range with programmable 9 to 12-bit resolution. The device supports parasite power mode, allowing operation entirely from the 1-Wire data line without a local power supply. Each device has a unique 48-bit serial number, enabling multiple sensors to share the same 1-Wire bus.

The DS1822 measures temperature using a bandgap temperature-sensing circuit that generates a voltage proportional to absolute temperature. An internal delta-sigma ADC converts this voltage to a digital value. In 12-bit mode, the temperature resolution is 0.0625C. The 1-Wire protocol provides bidirectional communication with a master controller using a single data line. Each device contains a 48-bit unique ROM code that allows individual addressing in multi-drop configurations. Programmable TH and TL alarm registers enable automatic temperature monitoring without continuous polling.
