The EKZE250ELL331MJ16S from Chemi-Con is a 330 uF, 25 V radial aluminum electrolytic capacitor from the EKZE series. It features low impedance of 0.034 ohm at 100 kHz, making it suitable for high-frequency switching power supply applications. The capacitor delivers a high ripple current rating of 1.25 A and is designed for a minimum operating life of 5000 hours at 105 degC. The compact 12.5 x 16 mm can with 5 mm lead spacing is ideal for space-constrained PCB layouts.

The EKZE series capacitor uses a wound aluminum foil element with a liquid electrolyte system. The anode foil is electrochemically etched to increase surface area, then formed with an aluminum oxide dielectric layer. The cathode foil and electrolyte-soaked separator paper are wound together with the anode, creating a large effective plate area in a compact package. Under applied DC voltage, the oxide layer acts as the dielectric. During ripple current flow, the capacitor absorbs and releases charge, smoothing voltage fluctuations. The low impedance design minimizes self-heating at high frequencies, extending operational lifetime.
