The IRF530NSTRLPBF operates as a standard N-channel enhancement-mode MOSFET. When a sufficient positive voltage is applied between gate and source (exceeding the threshold voltage of 2-4V), an n-type conductive channel forms in the p-type body region, allowing current to flow between drain and source. The device is designed primarily for switching applications where it operates in the cut-off (off) and triode (on) regions. The gate is electrically isolated by a silicon dioxide layer, providing very high input impedance and negligible gate drive current in steady state.
