It features a drain-source voltage rating of 40 V and continuous drain current of 90A (pkg limit) / 180A (Si limit) with a maximum on-resistance of 2.4 mΩ (max) @ 10V. Packaged in a TO-252AA (D-PAK), this device is optimized for brushed/bldc motor drives, pwm inverters, battery powered circuits. The IRFR7440TRPBF provides improved gate, avalanche and dynamic dv/dt ruggedness, along with fully characterized avalanche performance and industry-standard packaging for ease of design and manufacturing.

The IRFR7440TRPBF operates as an N-channel enhancement-mode MOSFET. When a positive gate-source voltage exceeding the threshold (2.2 – 3.9 V) is applied, an N-type inversion layer forms in the P-type body region, creating a conductive channel between drain and source. At VGS=10V, the device reaches full enhancement, providing its rated on-resistance of 2.4 mΩ (max) @ 10V. The StrongIRFET™ cell geometry balances switching speed with conduction losses. With VGS=0V, the device blocks up to 40 V across the drain-source junction with minimal leakage. The intrinsic body diode provides reverse conduction capability, essential for inductive load applications such as motor drives and power supply converters.
