The IRLB3034PBF operates as an N-channel enhancement-mode MOSFET. When a positive gate-source voltage exceeding the threshold (1.0 – 2.5 V) is applied, an N-type inversion layer forms in the P-type body region, creating a conductive channel between drain and source. At VGS=10V, the device reaches full enhancement, providing its rated on-resistance of 1.7 mΩ (max) @ 10V; 2.0 mΩ @ 4.5V. The HEXFET® StrongIRFET™ cell geometry balances switching speed with conduction losses. With VGS=0V, the device blocks up to 40 V across the drain-source junction with minimal leakage. The intrinsic body diode provides reverse conduction capability, essential for inductive load applications such as motor drives and power supply converters.
