The LP2951CMMX-3.0/NOPB is a 100 mA micropower LDO voltage regulator from Texas Instruments with a fixed 3.0 V output. The LP2951-N is a micropower voltage regulator from Texas Instruments with very low quiescent current and very low dropout voltage, ideally suited for battery-powered systems. The quiescent current increases only slightly in dropout, prolonging battery life. The device features tight initial tolerance (0.5% typical), excellent load and line regulation (0.05% typical), and a very low output voltage temperature coefficient. Additional features include an error flag output for low output detection and a logic-compatible shutdown input for on/off control.

The LP2951-N uses a PNP pass transistor in a feedback-regulated topology. The output voltage is sensed by an internal resistor divider (for fixed-voltage versions) and compared against a precision bandgap reference. The error amplifier adjusts the PNP transistor drive to maintain regulation. The error flag comparator monitors the output and pulls the ERROR pin low when the output drops below approximately 90% of the nominal value, useful for power-on reset. The shutdown input turns off the regulator when pulled low, reducing supply current to near zero.
