Working Principle

The SAS3008 IOC implements the Fusion-MPT architecture. The PCIe x8 Gen2 interface connects to the host system. The SAS core handles STP (SATA Tunneling Protocol) and SSP (SAS SCSI Protocol) for transparent SAS/SATA device support. RAID processing is offloaded to the ARM processor core when operating in IR (Integrated RAID) mode. Discovery and topology management follow SAS-2 specifications.
