The OSRAM LW P473-Q2S1-FKPL-1 is a white Power TOPLED LED designed for high-brightness illumination applications. Part of the OSRAM Power TOPLED family, it delivers higher luminous flux than standard TOPLED devices through a larger chip area and optimized package thermal design. The wide 130-degree viewing angle ensures uniform light distribution suitable for automotive interior lighting and general illumination. The silicone encapsulant provides reliable operation at elevated temperatures, supporting forward currents up to 150 mA continuous. The cool white color temperature of approximately 6000K produces bright, clean white light ideal for daytime running lights and reading lights. The surface-mount package is compatible with standard reflow soldering processes and is qualified for automotive applications.

The LW P473-Q2S1-FKPL-1 uses a high-power InGaN blue LED chip with a phosphor conversion layer to produce white light. The blue InGaN chip emits at approximately 450 nm, and the phosphor (typically cerium-doped YAG) absorbs a portion of the blue light and re-emits a broad yellow spectrum. The combination of transmitted blue light and phosphor yellow emission produces white light with a correlated color temperature of approximately 6000K (cool white). The Power TOPLED package features a larger chip and enhanced thermal path through the lead frame, allowing higher drive currents (up to 150 mA) compared to standard TOPLED devices (typically 50 mA max). This results in significantly higher luminous flux. The silicone encapsulant replaces standard epoxy, providing better thermal stability and resistance to yellowing at high operating temperatures. The 130-degree viewing angle is achieved through the flat silicone lens geometry, which minimizes total internal reflection and maximizes light extraction.
