The MTFC4GACAJCN-1M WT from Micron is a 4GB eMMC 5.1 embedded flash storage device in BGA-153 (11.5x13mm) package. eMMC integrates NAND flash, controller, ECC, and wear leveling in a single package. HS400 mode provides up to 320 MB/s read speed. For embedded system boot, mobile device storage, and IoT data logging where raw NAND management is undesirable.

The eMMC package integrates raw NAND flash die(s) with a dedicated flash controller. The controller handles ECC (BCH or LDPC), bad block management, wear leveling, and garbage collection transparently. The eMMC 5.1 command set extends JEDEC MMC with HS400 mode (DDR at 200MHz) for maximum throughput. The host accesses storage through a simple 8-bit or 4-bit MMC bus without raw NAND complexity.
