The RJHSE-5381 from Amphenol Communications Solutions is a shielded RJ45 8P8C modular jack with integrated 2×2 LED indicators (green/yellow) in a right-angle through-hole package. The full metal shield with EMI gasket provides superior noise immunity for reliable Gigabit Ethernet operation in electrically noisy industrial environments. The dual-color LED indicators display link status and network activity without requiring external LED components, simplifying PCB design and reducing component count. The Cat5e/Cat6 rated contacts support IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet. The right-angle through-hole design provides robust mechanical attachment with both signal pins and shell grounding tabs soldered to the PCB.

The RJHSE-5381 provides an 8P8C (8-position, 8-contact) interface compliant with IEC 60603-7 and TIA/EIA-568 standards for Ethernet connectivity. The 8 signal contacts connect to the 4 differential pairs (TX+/TX-, RX+/RX-, BI_DA+/-, BI_DB+/-) used in 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet. The integrated LEDs are connected internally across pins 1-2 (LED pair 1) and pins 7-8 (LED pair 2) of the LED contacts, with green indicating link establishment and yellow indicating activity. The metal shield with EMI gasket provides 360-degree shielding around the connector cavity, preventing electromagnetic interference from coupling onto the high-speed Ethernet differential pairs during Gigabit operation.
