The Richtek RT8059GQW is a 1.5A synchronous step-down DC-DC converter in compact WDFN-10L (3x3mm) package, optimized for single-cell Li-ion powered portable devices. The 1.5MHz switching frequency minimizes inductor size, and the 0.6V reference enables ultra-low output voltages for modern low-voltage MCU and FPGA cores.

The RT8059GQW uses current-mode control with integrated MOSFETs for synchronous rectification. The 1.5MHz switching frequency allows use of small 1uH inductors and low-value ceramic capacitors, minimizing solution footprint. The 0.6V reference voltage supports output voltages down to 0.6V for sub-1V core rails. The device supports 100% duty cycle operation in dropout, where the high-side MOSFET is continuously on, providing the lowest possible input-to-output voltage difference.
