Working Principle
The Si7022 uses a capacitive sensing element with a polymer dielectric that absorbs or desorbs water molecules proportional to ambient RH. An on-chip sigma-delta ADC converts the capacitance change to a digital humidity value. A separate bandgap temperature sensor provides compensated temperature readings. Factory calibration constants stored in on-chip OTP memory ensure +/-3% RH accuracy without user calibration. I2C interface provides digital output.
