The STPS0560Z from STMicroelectronics is a 60V 5A Schottky barrier rectifier in SMC package. The 0.54V forward voltage at 5A minimizes conduction losses in freewheel and rectifier applications. 175C max Tj provides thermal margin for high-power density designs. SMC (DO-214AB) is a widely used surface-mount footprint.

A metal-semiconductor (Schottky) junction formed by a metal contact on N-type silicon. Majority carrier conduction eliminates reverse recovery charge, enabling zero-recovery switching in high-frequency DC-DC converters. The tradeoff is higher leakage current (200uA) vs silicon PN diodes.
