Working Principle

Separate driver (DI→Y/Z) and receiver (A/B→RO) channels enable simultaneous transmit and receive on a 4-wire bus. Driver output is enabled by DE, receiver by RE. True fail-safe receiver ensures a logic HIGH output when the bus is open, shorted, or all transceivers are idle (all outputs tri-stated). Hot-swap capability prevents glitches during plug-in.
