Working Principle
The MSP430 CPU uses a 16-bit RISC architecture with 27 instructions and constant generators for efficient code density. Active mode current is under 300uA at 1MHz. Low-power modes include LPM0 (CPU off, clocks active), LPM3 (CPU off, DCO off, ACLK on), and LPM4 (all off). Instant wakeup from LPM takes under 1us. The USI (Universal Serial Interface) module handles SPI/I2C with hardware state machines, minimizing CPU intervention. Timer_A2 supports capture/compare and PWM generation.
